Dutch supermodel Lara Stone has won "significant" damages from the French edition of Playboy magazine in a lawsuit she had filed against the magazine for publishing unauthorised photographs of her, her lawyers say.

The Calvin Klein model sued the title and photographer Greg Lotus in a Paris court in July, under French image rights legislation, for carrying topless photographs of her without consent in the previous month's issue.

"No woman wants photos of them to be published in Playboy without permission. I'm very pleased to have won the case, although of course I would rather not have had to take legal action at all," said Stone in a statement released by her law firm Schillings.

According to Schillings, in addition to the compensation, Playboy has been ordered by the court to publish a prominent legal statement in its next issue admitting that it has been found guilty of infringing Stone's image rights.

The model will be donating the undisclosed compensation amount to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in London.
