The Week expands online staff
The Week is looking to increase and improve its online offering.
By New Statesman Published 29 September 2010The Week magazine is expanding its digital operations with five new hires to run TheWeek.com and improve its online offering.
Deidre Depke, former editor with Newsweek.com, will hold the newly created position of general manager of digital. She will continue to work on developing the site's infrastructure, develop new content offerings and manage online staff.
Other new hires include Dale Hrabi, online editorial director, who was earlier the deputy editor of Radar; Jebediah Reed, deputy editor; David La Cross, digital marketing manager; and Jessica Hullinger, audience development manager.
The Week magazine compiles a weekly news digest from other online and print sources. According to the company, traffic at TheWeek.com has crossed 1.7 million unique visitors in August while the print magazine has over 500,000 paid subscribers. The website's 2010 revenues are on track to triple from 2009, the company added.
