Elle magazine is marking its 25th anniversary with five limited edition covers, and will be advertising itself for the first time in six years, reported Media Week on Friday.
The special covers feature a mix of models and designers from the fashion industry, including Coco Rocha, Helena Christensen, John Galliano and Naomi Campbell, as well as actress Kate Hudson, says the report.
The 25th anniversary issue is a chance to "showcase all the work we have realised over the past two years since we repositioned Elle," said Rita Lewis, group publisher of the magazine, owned by Hachette Filipacchi.
The magazine was repositioned in 2008 from a mid-market populist title, to compete with high-end fashion titles such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
The £200,000 advertising campaign for the anniversary issue includes press, outdoor and digital media and was created in-house with media planned and bought by MEC.
