Haymarket to publish official X Factor magazine

Weekly publication covering talent show's 7th season to be released nationwide in September

Haymarket Media will publish the first official magazine of The X Factor show, in agreement with the programme's producers, FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) and Syco Entertainment, which is owned by show judge Simon Cowell.

The weekly title will launch in September with the seventh season of ITV's television singing competition in Britain. It will be exclusively available at Tesco stores in the launch phase, before being sold at retailers across the country.

Its distribution will be managed by the UK's biggest magazine distributor, Frontline, reports industry newsmagazine, Campaign.

"There is a gap in the market for a magazine that celebrates the world of pop and provides an in-depth insight into the world of 'The X Factor'. We're looking forward to its launch and delivering something new to fans," said Dominic Burns senior vice-president, licensing UK for FME.

The report adds that recruitment is underway for editorial, publishing and advertising staff for The X Factor magazine.
