Carla Bevan to be AOL UK's new online editor-in-chief

Online editor of Marie Claire will now head up lifestyle sites for AOL UK.

Carla Bevan, who has been the online editor of women's magazine Marie Claire for the last three years, is shortly going to join AOL as editor-in-chief of its UK content sites.

Bevan will be responsible for running AOL's lifestyle websites such as the celebrity gossip site Eleven, parenting site ParentDish, fashion site StyleList, men's website Asylum, music channel Spinner and travel channel Travel.

She will report to AOL's director of media, Julian Downing who recently joined the company from Hearst Digital.

Bevan formerly worked as the deputy editor of Conde Nast Publications such as glamour.com. She has also been associated with publications such as the general-interest monthly Oldie, food magazine Food Illustrated, women's magazine More! And the lifestyle daily newsletter, Daily Candy.
