Elle magazine has hired Robin Domeniconi, a vice president at Microsoft, as its new chief brand officer.
She will oversee content, advertising and marketing at Elle, which has seen a fall in ad sales after the departure of its successful former brand officer Carol Smith.
Domeniconi, who was in charge of sales and marketing for media properties at Microsoft, has considerable experience in the magazine industry. She formerly headed sales and marketing at Time, and was publisher and president of Real Simple.
Starting full time in July this year with Elle, she is expected to boost its presence on digital platforms.
Smith left the magazine in April to take charge of Condé Nast's epicurean publications, Gourmet and Bon Appetit.
