Frieze magazine invites entries for Writer's Prize
Frieze, which focuses on contemporary art and culture, is inviting entries for the Frieze Writer's P
By New Statesman Published 03 May 2010The magazine is published eight times a year and features essays, reviews and columns by writers, artists and curators.
The annual prize, established in 2006, promotes and encourages new critics from across the world. Previous winners include New York fiction writer and essayist Jessica Lott and theatre critic Jeffrey Ryan.
The judges for 2010 will be critic Boris Groys, writer and novelist AM Homes and Jorg Heiser, co-editor of Frieze.
Writers have been invited to submit an unpublished 700-word review in English of a recent contemporary art exhibition. Those above the age of 18 and with not more than three articles on art published in a newspaper or magazine can apply.
The closing date for entries is 25 June and the winner, to be announced in September, will be awarded £2,000 and the chance to write a review for the October issue of Frieze.
