UK magazine covers compete for the Maggies award
The shortlisted covers will be put up for a poll at themaggies.co.uk.
By New Statesman Published 12 May 2010British movie magazine Empire's Avatar cover and design magazine Wallpaper's peelable cover are among the nominees for this year's Maggies awards for the best magazine cover.
The Maggies honour UK's best covers over the past year in magazine categories such as entertainment, fashion, lifestyle, sports, specialist, youth, technology and trade.
For the 2010 awards, a jury comprising Barry McIlheney, chief executive of the Periodical Publishers Association, and journalist Eve Pollard has shortlisted five covers per category.
In the next six weeks, the shortlisted covers will be put up for a poll at themaggies.co.uk where the people can choose the winning cover from each of the eight categories. The online poll is conducted by the online magazine and newspaper subscription business, iSubscribe.
