Two senior staffers quit People magazine

Departures follow those of a senior editor and two senior writers earlier in the year.

The People magazine editor Larry Hackett has announced that two high-level staffers have quit the magazine on Thursday.

In an email to Hamilton Nolan, reporter at the online media company and blog network Gawker, Hackett stated that assistant managing editor Maggie Murphy is leaving the People magazine to take over as the editorial director of the Sunday magazine, Parade.

Murphy, who has been with the US magazine's parent company, the Time group, for 17 years, will not be working after 3 June, Hackett said.

The mail also mentioned that design director Sara Williams would be quitting to reportedly pursue new goals.

One senior editor and two senior writers also left the magazine recently.
