The Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) has teamed up with the National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) to make extra copies of top-selling magazines for NFRN members.
The NFRN is a trade association with over 18,000 independent news and convenience retailers in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The PPA is a forum of print and online publishers of consumer and business media in the UK.
The PPA/NFRN Autumn Availability Campaign to sell the magazines, which will be launched in September, will be supported by 60 UK publications.
The PPA's Retail Marketing Group, which is handling the campaign, will explore ways to improve service and sales to independent retailers.
Kate McElroy, senior circulation executive at the PPA, said several publishers are supporting the campaign by providing copies which the NFRN will try to sell. This is expected to improve sales of the magazines and benefit all members of the supply chain.
