Former Us Weekly editor joins Hollywood Reporter

Janice Min is charged with attracting more advertising for the publication.

Janice Min will be the new editorial director of The Hollywood Reporter, the movie-industry trade weekly's publisher e5 Global Media have announced.

Min was previously the editor-in-chief of celebrity gossip magazine Us Weekly, published by the New York-based Wenner Media.

Richard Beckman, the chief executive of e5Global Media, which also publishes music magazine Billboard and advertising website AdWeek, has hired Min to make the publication more consumer-oriented and attract more advertising, the company said.

The recent shift of movie advertisements and promos from magazines to the internet has affected the advertising revenues of publishing houses.

Beckman said Min's experience would help her lead the movie magazine's "business-to-influencer coverage" of the global entertainment industry.
