Publishers to sell mag subscriptions on Facebook
The subscriptions will be offered directly over Facebook's news feed.
By New Statesman Published 13 May 2010Facebook will soon enable publishers to sell their magazine subscriptions on the social network's pages and users' news feeds.
Synapse, a magazine subscription marketing agency, is reportedly working with ecommerce solutions provider Alvenda to begin the new Facebook service by July-August. The subscriptions will be offered directly over Facebook's news feed. The social networking site's users can buy subscriptions in one step without leaving their profile page.
The network's feed will also enable expanded viewing of the magazine's articles, including the advertisements, when the user shares it with friends.Facebook, however, will not be claiming a share in the subscription revenue, Ad Age has reported.
