Nearly 92 of 150 American monthly magazines recorded an increase in their ad pages in June 2010, compared to just 17 in June 2009, according to media trade magazine Minonline.
In addition, 77 titles showed an ad page per cent gain year-to-date 2010 v 2009, compared to only eight titles during the first half of 2009.
Elle Décor's new issue featuring the top 25 US designers recorded the highest gain of 91.28 per cent in ad pages, according to vice-president and publisher Barbara Friedmann.
US financial magazine Money stood second with a 79 per cent hike in ad pages from June 2009.
Science magazine Popular Mechanics saw a 61 per cent increase primarily because of the men's advertising market, according to publisher Bill Congdon.
