US mags see fewer closures in 2010
But the number of new publications down on last year, according to a new report from mediafinder.com

Only 22 magazines have closed down in the US in the first quarter of 2010 compared to 95 in the same period last year, according to the report. It also noted that only 25 new publications were launched during the first three months in 2010, compared to 110 in first quarter of last year.
Only seven publications stopped their print editions and went online in first quarter, compared to 16 in the first quarter of 2009. The health, food and home magazines dominated the list of new publications launched in 2010, the report said.
