Ben Zimmer is NYT's new 'On Language' columnist
The New York Times Magazine has appointed linguist and lexicographer Ben Zimmer as the new On Langua
By New Statesman Published 12 March 2010He will succeed William Safire, who started the column and wrote it until he died last year.
The column, which comments about the various facets of language, appears as a bi-weekly starting 21 March.
Zimmer is the former editor of American dictionaries at Oxford University Press and a consultant to the Oxford English Dictionary.
