French publisher said to be bidding for IPL's 20/20 mag
Hachette Livre, a unit of the French media house Lagardere, is reportedly bidding to publish 20/20.
20/20 is the official magazine of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Lagardere publishes the Elle magazine and operates in 40 countries worldwide.
The Indian publisher Westland recently discontinued publishing the 20/20 magazine, after the publication of the first two issues. It was reported that it could not finalise the financial terms of the arrangement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which conducts the IPL.
The magazine featured exclusive photographs and interviews of top IPL players, and a preview of the events that are organised around the IPL extravaganza.
The BCCI had supported Westland by making bulk purchases of the magazine for distribution to its various partners and key stakeholders.
The IPL matches end on 25 April.
