Chinese sci-fi mag authors rebel against editorial president

Li Chiang is being blamed for Kehuan Shijie's drop in circulation from 150,000 to 130,000.

Authors of China's science fiction magazine Kehuan Shijie (Science Fiction World; SFW) said Chiang is incapable of running the magazine and demanded his removal. The authors warned that the magazine would have to close down if no action is taken.

The magazine's editors have also joined the authors in signing an open letter asking for the removal of Chiang. The protesting authors have also garnered the support of thousands of Chinese SFW fans.

Wang Jinkang, six-time winner of China's Galaxy Award for science fiction and the author of novels such as Life Of Ants and Cross, has also joined the protest.
