Wired magazine previews its iPad version

Wired's print designers created the magazine as an Adobe AIR application that is compatible on various tablets. Adobe AIR will provide text, imagery, animation and interactivity to iPad applications.

Adobe AIR is an operating system that enables web developers to use existing web development skills, code and tools to build web applications and content to the desktop.

The iPad version supports interactive product views, natural hand gesture movements and dual axis navigation systems. The user can scroll right and left, as if flipping through a page of the magazine. To read an article, the user presses down to access more content.

The app also includes article clippings and a 'favourite bin' besides Twitter and Facebook integration buttons.
