Playboy Enterprises, the group that includes Playboy magazine, posted a 14 per cent drop in revenue, but the magazine made a profit for the quarter. It merged the January and February 2010 issues. The success of the November 2009 issue which sold more than 221,000 copies also contributed to the success.
Flanders said that licensing is the company's "most profitable and fastest-growing business." He added that a partnership with the US-based media production house IMG could help double or triple licensing revenues in Asia, which accounts for about 40 per cent of the company's product-licensing revenues.
