Frankie is Australia’s fastest growing magazine

Women’s magazine Frankie is the fastest growing magazine in Australia, according to the latest Audit

The bi-monthly produced on a budget from a one-bedroom office in Brunswick grew by 31.6 per cent in the year to December.

The overall sales of audited Australian magazines were down 3 per cent last year.

Launched in September 2004 by marketing and online editor Louise Bannister and creative director Lara Burke, Frankie has a circulation of over 38,000. It is published by Morrison Media based in Gold Coast.

Editor Jo Walker attributes the circulation growth to the magazine's ''smart, grounded'' content.

Erica Bartle, creator of the magazine and media blog Girl with a Satchel, believes Frankie is constantly engaged with readers through its blogs and Twitter, making them feel as if they are part of a special club.

Frankie's association with community events such as fashion shows and book launches and its active participation in the social media has also contributed to its popularity.
