Dow Jones to buy SmartMoney mag from Hearst
Dow Jones is considering acquiring SmartMoney by buying its partner Hearst Corp’s 50 per cent stake
By New Statesman Published 24 February 2010Dow Jones plans to add SmartMoney to its other personal finance publications such as Barron's Magazine and Far Eastern Economic Review. Currently, Hearst supervises business affairs, circulation and marketing, while Dow Jones handles the editorial operations.
In 2009, SmartMoney's advertising pages fell 22.9 per cent compared to 2008, according to Publishers Information Bureau figures.
