Kevin Maguire’s New Year’s resolution
By Kevin Maguire Published 29 December 2010
I don't think I've ever kept a New Year resolution but it's not for want of trying. The intention is usually strong, on 31 December at least, but winter's a grim season so it's hard to start afresh in brass monkey weather.
The ConDem austerity coalition's majority means the House of Commons is a depressing place to be at the moment, Ed Miliband's stuttering start adding to the general gloom.
In 2011, therefore, I'm launching a determined drive to get out of Westminster regularly.
Seeing the damage inflicted by Cameron and Clegg will thicken the red mist yet show more clearly why the ConDems are wrong. The Palace of Westminster is a club I have no interest in feeling a member of.
