Michael Brooks’s New Year’s resolution

I had a little taste of political activism in 2010, and I liked it. My highlights of the year involved standing against a scientifically illiterate Tory at the general election and speaking at a rally of 2,000 angry scientists in front of the Treasury.

I think I am ready to be radicalised: in 2011, I shall immerse myself in the culture of discontent. Maybe I'll audition for The X Factor with a protest song. It can't be any more humiliating than pulling in fewer votes than an English Democrat candidate.
