Bored with spying on your neighbours? Users of Google’s controversial Street View will soon have some less quotidian sights to peer at: this past week, the company sent tricyclists to photograph seven British landmarks, starting with Stonehenge. The pedal-powered cameras will also be visiting the Angel of the North and the Eden Project, among other sites. But if the rumours are true, the next mapping project will put all this in the shade. Techies invited to a Google Earth press conference on 20 July – the 40th anniversary of the moon landings – are already getting sweaty-palmed at the thought of a 3D Google Moon map.
