Gerd Zettlmeissl, CEO of Intercell, said: "A major challenge facing our industry is identifying ways to improve healthcare in both developed and developing nations. The patch technology program is among our initiatives aspiring to bring innovation to all countries. We also face the challenge of overcoming concerns about injected vaccines. Other companies have attempted to address these concerns through development of oral and nasal vaccines - with limited success. We believe our patch technology can meet these challenges and be an important stimulus for future improvements."
