Positron Sells Attrius PET Scanner To Gramercy Cardiac Diagnostic
Positron Corporation (Positron), a molecular imaging solutions company focused on Nuclear Cardiology
The company claims that Attrius is the only PET scanner on the market optimized for myocardial perfusion imaging. It has specialized features making it a useful scanner for PET imagery and cardiovascular specific interpretation tools, assisting in accurately assessing the patient's condition.
Positron emission tomography (PET) is a medical imaging procedure that provides information about how an organ or system in the body is working. PET scans are mainly used to assess cancers, neurological (brain) diseases and cardiovascular (heart-related) disease.
The PET scanner has a ring of detectors that surround the patient. It looks similar to a CT scanner. The scan is performed by a health care professional called a nuclear medicine scientist, who works with a nuclear medicine medical specialist, said the company.
Joseph Oliverio, chief technology officer of Positron, said: "We are proud to sell Positron's newly released Attrius PET scanner to Dr. Rentrop. We appreciate his confidence in Positron Corporation in purchasing multiple systems to date. Positron has the ideal solution for thousands of cardiology groups looking to improve their diagnostic accuracy at an affordable price."
