The agreement grants BioSyent the exclusive rights to manufacture, market, and distribute Virsani in Canada and the US.
The company claims that Virsani kills viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens on hands and surfaces and is available in a small aerosol can suitable for mobile personal hygiene. Virsani can disinfect both hands and personal spaces like computer keyboards, telephones, common work areas, and surfaces in fitness clubs and public washrooms.
Virsani has been approved by Health Canada and is currently available in over 1,200 retail locations, including certain Rexall PharmaPlus, Pharmasave, International News, 7-Eleven, and Mac's Convenience stores. BioSyent's sales and marketing activity on Virsani is expected to commence immediately.
Rene Goehrum, CEO of BioSyent, said: "Consumer awareness of the importance of personal hygiene has been greatly increased over the last several years as a result of outbreaks such as H1N1 flu virus, Bird Flu, and SARS. Virsani is a unique, convenient product that consumers can use at home, the workplace, in public places and when they are travelling, to provide safe and effective sanitization when they encounter such viruses and bacteria".
