Test (no peeking)
We tried this simple test in the pub and many of us struggled, see how you do.
Without using Google, or any other reference material, name a Labour 2005 election policy.

Labour had policies…?
Er…

Their policy is simply not being the Conservatives, yet being able to gain power.

thats easy!
The absolute basics which are issues which definately cross over the main political parties:
1) more policemen on the streets
2)stop the spread of MRSA aka clean our hospitals
3) more help for single mothers
4) ummmmmmm now it is getting tough ummmmmmmmmmmmm something about keeping our economy strong ish
5) a tougher stance against drug addicts (remember the oh so potent message in Murdochs brianchild the sun ‘dont vote lib dems cos their soft on drugs’ with kennedys picture juxtaposed against a spliff?)
6)Id cards (big brother here we come!)
7)something against environmental degradation (im guessing!)
8)oh yes more people going to university (remember Blairs 50% target)
9)Im not too sure now more sure start schemes?
10)more tough on immigration (I know this was tory but I think labour had a not very similar but still a call on immigration issues to curb the racist right wing vote)
