By not giving some patients the necessary treatment early enough to enable them to go back to work we lose their money in tax. It is a catch 22 - if we don't spend the money to keep people healthy we don't generate enough money. I know too many examples of people at working age who are unable to work effectively because of untreated injuries. For instance a bad back of one case this man is unable to move until the operation is performed - in three months time. He is consequently paid invalidity benefit and of course is not earning a salary and "putting into the pot."
Another person I know, because his GP is too busy, did not know he had diabetes so had to resign because he kept fainting. He does know now but too late! He resigned his job - another income lost! This is my personal experience how much money is being lost out there because of poor medical care?
