An opportunity not to waste

Ministers and their meddlesome ways
I fully agree that you cannot take the politics out of healthcare. And why should you - it is one of the most expensive elements of public expenditure in most European nations. However, I do believe that the public have the opportunity you are waiting for as a result of the proposed white paper on public involvement.

The government has been brave and not only put forward radical proposals but also amended them as a result of public consultation.

It is up to people like you to make sure the Bill makes it through Parliament and that the electorate can play a genuinely participatory role in their local NHS.

This is the opportunity - don't let it go to waste.
