Naiveity beyond belief

Sara Elvey, District Nurse, Herts
Thursday 7th February 2002
Parents of this message:
Stop whinging about the NHS
Point one: Some people 'wait' so long for treatment, the condition becomes untreatable.

Point two: Flaws and screw-ups cost lives.

Point three: There are thousands of grandmothers that don't get 'fantastic' treatment.

I have worked as a district nurse for 12 years. I know the NHS inside and out. The system is falling apart and I see it every day in falling down hospital wards, patients given the wrong medicine because nurses are too overworked, GPs having breakdowns because the stress is too much . . .

To say 'stop whinging about the NHS' purely because your grandmother had some good treatment is ignorant and the logic of puerile mind (To cast an opinion based on only your personal experience is also dangerous).

I wish to remind you that there are more people in the UK than you and your grandmother.
