Measures to keep buses safer and affordable.

Bus fares and off-peak tube fares should be cut by 20p and peak tube fares should be frozen. We should also ensure all new buses are electric hybrids from 2009 onwards, and invest in new tramways and rail routes for outer London.
Crime on the buses is at its lowest level in five years and CCTV is installed on every bus. There needs to be increased investment in policing without any need to raise fares.
There should be uniformed presence on all buses covering the 10 most dangerous routes in London. This will reduce antisocial behaviour and fare evasion.
Levels of crime on buses puts some people off using them and conductors on buses is just one part of the answer. There should also be a trail of live CCTV and extra police officers.
