Deloitte to go on recruitment drive to further expansion plans

Deloitte to hire almost 200 new strategy advisers in the UK over the next three years.

Deloitte is planning to further expand its reach in Britain's consulting market and is looking to hire almost 200 new strategy advisers over the next three years.

The management consulting firm aims to double its annual revenues from strategy consulting in the UK to about £60 million.

The leading accounting firm will soon go on a recruitment drive in a bid to expand its advisory businesses, the Times reported.

Currently, more than 2,000 consultants are employed by Deloitte in Britain, generating a quarter of its £2bn annual UK turnover.

Apart from Deloitte, the other major players in the market are McKinsey & Co, Bain & Co and The Boston Consulting Group.

Deloitte is looking to tap the market in the sector of providing greater, high-level advice to senior executives on matters such as enhancing companies' growth prospects, entering new markets and making acquisitions, according to the Times.

"Demand for pure strategy consulting is shrinking and being able to provide the full gambit of effective strategy and execution, which in reality are entirely interconnected, is very compelling," Dean Arnold, head of Deloitte's strategy practice, said.
