News Corp-owned Shine buys internet TV channel

Elisabeth Murdoch buys ChannelFlip in latest move to expand.

Elisabeth Murdoch's Shine Group has bought ChannelFlip for an undisclosed amount, it was announced today. The move follows last year's purchase of social gaming company Bossa Studios.

ChannelFlip, founded by Justin Gayner and Wil Harris in 2008, has made shows for several British TV presenters including Harry Hill, Richard Hammond and David Mitchell. It is currently one of Europe's most watched TV channels on YouTube.

Speaking about the latest purchase Murdoch said, "This acquisition further underlines Shine Group's relentless commitment to delivering excellence across all platforms and our determination to develop powerful direct to consumer models and connections to audiences, wherever they may be."
