YouTube on Tuesday launched Trends, a new service that will provide daily updates on the latest trends on the video sharing site.
In a blog post, the site stated that it will identify the viral and newsworthy content that people love to share and will package it in an easy to understand format
"With over 35 hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute, we wanted one place to distil the videos people were sharing and discussing with their friends as well as understand what YouTube could teach us about our culture and current events," the post added.
The site said that it will present the "4 at 4," a collection of the top trending videos -- compiled through algorithmically generated feeds -- twice a day.
A new dashboard will now let users explore what's popular in different cities of the world.
The Google-owned site has also added a Trends blog to which offers analysis on why the videos made it to the top.
