Outside magazine comes up with inaugural iPad edition

November issue is free to download but from December it will cost $3.99 per issue

American adventure travel magazine Outside has come up with a special iPad-exclusive edition of the magazine - Outside+ -- the November issue of which is available for free via the iTunes store.

The December 2010 issue will be available for $3.99 per issue.

The iPad application, powered by Adobe, features enhanced stories, videos, photo galleries offering 360-degree views, and interactive articles.

The magazine claims that its November iPad edition features 25 per cent more content than Outside's print issue, including six videos, several of which are produced by the Outside Television Network, the magazine's national television network.

It also features a primer on "meteorological mysteries" such as powder prediction, flash floods and El Niño, as well as survivor accounts of difficult scenarios such as lightning, avalanches, angry mobs and bear attacks.
