WebMediaBrands, the US publisher of 18 blogs including media news and jobs site Mediabistro, acquired broadcast media news site TVSpy.com on Wednesday.
The site belonged to the New York-based education and career site Vault. The companies did not disclose the terms of the acquisition.
Andrew Gauthier will continue as editor of TVSpy.
Formerly known as ShopTalk, TVSpy will get a design makeover, said Alan M Meckler, chairman and chief executive of the blog network.
TVSpy's message boards and e-newsletter will remain largely unchanged after the sale, he added.
He said that the new acquisition fits "perfectly" into WebMediaBrand's media network, which includes US broadcast news site TVNewser.
"The combination of TVSpy and TVNewser should further ensure our leadership in coverage of local and national broadcast and cable news on air and online," he added.
