Motor Trend magazine, covering the world of cars, trucks and SUVs, has launched the first iPad edition of the monthly featuring the January 'Car of the Year' issue, which is now available at the Apple's app store.
Users will be able to unravel the honouree of this year's 'Car of the Year' award -- the 2011 Chevrolet Volt - by removing a virtual wrap across the iPad's display, a statement issued by the magazine said.
Other attractions of the January issue include a head-to-head shootout between two famed Italian manufacturers - Ducati Motorcycles and its automotive counterpart Ferrari.
Subscribers of the iPad app can zoom in and out on the track where testing was conducted and even select their favourite portions of the course and watch videos of the two machines traversing the section in comparative mode with one vehicle superimposed over the other.
The new iPad edition of the magazine also features integrated video, audio commentary from the editorial staff and new ways of comparing data in head-to-head tests.
The Motor Trend app is available for $3.99 from the App Store.
