Marie Claire magazine is poised to launch its first iPad app, Marie Claire Beauty Genius, in the coming weeks.
The app is already available on the iPhone at a download price of £1.19.
The app, developed with the aim to accelerate the women's title's digital development, features how-to videos presented by top make-up artists and stylists and will be updated on a monthly basis.
The app launch comes through collaboration with digital agency Outside Line.
An IPC Media spokeswoman said sponsorship and commercial opportunities around the app will be pushed next year.
The paid-for iPad app will offer more functionality than its iPhone edition as it will give users the opportunity to buy more content directly.
IPC Media maintained that marieclaire.co.uk attracted 1.1m users -- up 91 per cent year on year -- and 17m page impressions last month.
