Google experiments with previews of pages in search results

Google has not yet commented about its new experiment.

Google is testing a search results page that shows a preview of the pages it generates.

Google users have reported seeing a search results page where some results are highlighted with a blue background.

When the user hovers above that result with their mouse, Google generates a preview of the page on the right side highlighting the text in the original search query.

Google searchers can already refine their searches to generate results with page previews through the search options panel on the left side of the search results page, but those previews are smaller and not automatically generated.

The search company has offered page previews as a search option for a while, but not by default.
