White House press secretary lauds Twitter’s pace and reach
Robert Gibbs applauds microblogging site.
Gibbs, who joined Twitter in February, said that it challenges and forces him to extract his thoughts and summarise them in 140 characters, the limit that Twitter allows for every post.
He said that it allowed the White House to reach not just the media but thousands of people who are curious about what President Barack Obama is doing. In an interview to CNN's Reliable Sources show, the press secretary said Twitter is an "amazing tool." He called it a 'fascinating, fast-moving medium" that allows his team and him at the US president's official residence and workplace to reach a larger audience at a quicker pace than ever before.
