More users accessing social networks through mobile phones

Social network sites are increasingly being accessed through mobile phones, a new report by the mark

Use of Facebook on mobile phones grew 112 per cent, while microblogging site Twitter registered a 347 per cent growth over the past year, the research firm revealed.

The study also found that one-third of smartphone users - about 8 per cent more than last year - used their mobile browsers to access social networking sites in January.

Social media is a natural choice as most people communicate to friends through their mobile phones, said Mark Donovan, senior vice president of mobile comScore.
