The group of advertisers sent a letter on Monday to John Liu, Google's vice-president of sales for greater China. Although Google did not publicly comment on the letter, recent reports suggest that the search engine company is reviewing its contents.

Google recently stated it was "99.9 per cent" certain it will shut down its Chinese operations soon.

The Chinese government has reportedly warned advertisers in China that Google would soon be banned in the country.
