Yahoo closes tech website
Web portal Yahoo has announced that it will close down its technology site Yahoo! Tech on 11 March.
By New Statesman Published 11 February 2010Content such as ratings and reviews, that users and tech.yahoo.com profiles uploaded onto the site, will also disappear.
"Yahoo will continue to offer technology related content from our bloggers and partner community, and we will also migrate selected archived news stories and reviews to Yahoo Technology News," the company said in the blog.
Yahoo! Tech, launched in 2006, catered to the layman with an interest in technology. It helped users find, research, compare, buy and use electronic gadgets. However, the site has not helped Yahoo in terms of search and advertising.
Yahoo had closed down services such as GeoCities, Jumpcut and Farechase last year.
