Google in top two slots of global Top 500 companies
Google is the second-most valued brand among the global Top 500, according to a ranking done by Bran
In the annual survey, the search engine company rose from number five last year to number two, toppling Coca-Cola from its position. Other technology brands in the top 10 include IBM at number four, Microsoft at five and HP at nine.
Among the new brands, Blackberry appeared in the Global 500 for the first time, while Apple climbed from 27 to 19, with a 45 per cent increase in its brand value. Brand Finance's Global 500 report is published annually and includes data from all listed companies globally.
