A panel discussion on the future of energy will take place at Durham University on 6 September.

Durham Univeristy and the New Statesman are hosting a free debate on the the subject of "Smarter Energy - Will it Cost the Earth?", on 6th September at 6pm.

Bill Bryson, the travel and humour writer, is chairing a debate about the future of energy, in association with the New Statesman and IBM, at Durham University. Bryson is Chancellor of Durham University, and this will be his last act in the role.

Panel members include NS science correspondent Michael Brookes; the President of CE Electric UK Phil Jones; the Leader of IBM Future Energy Gavin Jones; DONG Energy Professor of Renewable Energy at Durham Energy Institute, Phil Taylor; and Jenny Saunders, Chief Executive of National Energy Action.
