Follow Me
A Twitter inspired portrait project by award-winning British photographer Travis Hodges.
By Alice Gribbin Published 11 June 2012With his latest project, follow me, the photographer Travis Hodges set out to "illustrate one thread within the huge interconnected network" that is online social media. Developing on the phenomenon by which Twitter and other networking sites have "changed the way people build relationships," Hodges photographed the most active person he "followed" - and had them introduce him to their own equivalent.
The result is a connected series of intimate portraits, each shot by Hodges and presented by an (often distant) appreciator of the subject.
Here's a selection of eight images from the follow me chain, the third of which will be displayed later this summer at the 155th International Print Exhibition of the Royal Photographic Society.
