Madame Moitessier by Jean-Auguste-Dominique-Ingres and Richard Learoyd’s Jasmijn in Mary Quant (below) are two of the works in "Seduced By Art: Photography Past and Present", just opened at the National Gallery. It is the institution’s first major exhibition of photography and explores the similarities and direct influences between Old Master painting, early photos and contemporary photography by hanging all three categories together.

Other inspired pairings include Gainsboroguh’s Mr and Mrs Andrews with a Martin Parr domestic scene and Ori Gersht’s exploding flowers with Fantin-Latour’s The Rosy Wealth of June.
