The New Statesman is delighted to announce that it has appointed a new Culture Editor. Tom Gatti, who currently edits the Saturday Review section of the Times, will join the magazine in the autumn. Gatti has been at the Times since 2003, and is currently in charge of its 56-page weekly culture supplement. He also hosts events, plans special issues and curates the supplement’s digital content.
Kate Mossman, the NS pop critic, will also be joining the magazine on 22 July as Arts Editor, to provide maternity leave cover for Features Editor Sophie Elmhirst. Mossman is a widely published music writer and a former editor on The Word. She is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4, Radio 2, the World Service and Five Live, and has appeared as a music and film critic on TV from Late Review to various Sky Arts series.
