United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) is principally engaged in the manufacturing of advanced system-on-chip (SoC) designs. It is a semiconductor foundry that offers tailored foundry solutions on the basis of various advanced technologies including 90nm, 65nm, mixed signal/RFCMOS and other related technologies. The company targets communication, consumer electronics, computer, memory and other industries as key sources of revenue. It also provides a wide variety of services such as silicon intellectual property (IP), IC design support, mask tooling, design verification, wafer fabrication, and testing. UMC has broad customer base including Infineon, LSI Logic, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments, Freescale and Philips, ATI, Broadcom, Marvell, MediaTek, Novatek, Realtek, SanDisk and Xilinx. It has strong global foot print in different countries such as Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Europe and the US. UMC is headquartered at Hsinchu, Taiwan.
